Gone & Going is a blog by Kelley Sullivan, an aspiring globetrotter. Sullivan journals her travels while inspiring viewers to pack their bags and go on their adventures. I wanted to give her my design take on her excellent blog. The original designs presented on Gone & Going didn’t necessarily appeal to traveling. The challenge was to produce a look that emphasized the enthusiasm for exploration. Then, I thought that the images in Indiana Jones were a map showing the next adventure’s destination. The romantic notions of traveling in the 1930s and homage to location postcards finally inspired me to create a new theme for Gone & Going. The “vintage” Gone & Going logo, postcard, and Facebook cover photo maintain the idea that traveling will never go out of style.
