Gone & Going is a blog produced by Kelley Sullivan, an aspiring globetrotter. Sullivan journals her travels while inspiring viewers to pack their bags and go out on their own adventures. The original designs presented on Gone & Going didn’t necessarily appeal to traveling. I wanted to give her my design take on her wonderful blog. The challenge was to produce a look that emphasized the enthusiasm of exploration. Then, I thought about the images in Indiana Jones where a map showing the next adventures destination. The romantic images of traveling in 1930s mixed with a homage to location postcards finally gave me the inspiration to create a new theme for Gone & Going. The “vintage” Gone & Going logo, postcard, and Facebook cover photo maintain the idea that traveling will never go out of style.
