The “Sticker Shock of Voting” Poster

With the 2024 Election approaching, rallying the nation and encouraging everyone to vote is essential. The Sticker Shock of Voting  is a straightforward poster with its request, ‘Vote.’ As quoted in The West Wing, ‘Decisions are made by those who show up.’ Voting—or even not voting—is a right we have as Americans. However, the ‘I Voted’ stickers we receive after voting are gentle reminders of the value of exercising our right to shape the future we want.

This poster was for the Center for Architecture & Design’s 2024 Raise Your Voice competition and AIGA’s Design for Democracy campaign.

It took First Place in the Raise Your Voice competition. Center for Architecture & Design’s Raise Your Voice competition aimed to use the power of design to motivate your local KC community to register and vote in the 2024 general election. Submissions were judged on the message’s visual impact, creativity, and power.

Design for Democracy is based on the premise that good design makes your choices clear. In partnership with Nonprofit VOTE and the League of Women Voters, AIGA has activated its network of designers across the U.S. and beyond to Get Out the Vote. In addition to voting, we invite AIGA members to inspire citizens in their community to participate and build local awareness of midterm elections, registration deadlines, and absentee, mail-in, and early voting details.
