The website for award-winning audio producer and investigative journalist Zoe Sullivan was crafted to authentically reflect her expertise and adventurous career, spanning both Wisconsin and Brazil. Built in WordPress, this design sought to balance Zoe’s professional achievements with a visual theme that captures her investigative spirit. Key iconography—a compass, newspaper, eyeglass, and tape recorder—was developed in collaboration with a graphic designer and serves as the centerpiece of the homepage, creating an immediate, evocative connection to Zoe’s journalistic identity.
Initially, the site was envisioned as a full-screen showcase for these icons, but Zoe’s bio was added to the landing page to ensure that visitors quickly grasp her experience and background. Inspired by classic Indiana Jones-style colors, the design evokes a vintage, adventurous feel while maintaining the functionality and appeal expected of a modern journalist’s website. This project showcases a blend of thoughtful, thematic design with clear user guidance, ensuring Zoe’s work and identity shine through in a seamless, engaging experience.
